Obj. ID: 44874 Holocaust Memorial in the Jewish cemetery in Paraná, Argentina, 1950s
Who is Commemorated?
Jews killed during the Holocaust
Description
This memorial sits on a large platform of brick with white-plastered sides. The platform is large enough to have small trees planted within it, and still has space for a person to walk around the memorial.
The memorial itself is either made of or paneled with dark grey stone (granite?) and is made of two parts. A trapezoidal base, with a rectangular notch, carved out of the front center of it, with a rectangular stele sitting atop it.
The notch in the trapezoid contains three steps leading to the memorial, though they seem symbolic rather than functional.
The stele has a plaque attached above where the trapezoids notch is, and has a three-step pyramidal shape as a cap, upon which sits a round stone of a lighter color, and a Magen David sitting atop that.
