Inscription:

Ehemalige Synagoge Külsheim
Haus der Versammlung und des Gebetes

An dieser Stelle, in der ehem. Judenschulgasse, stand
die Synagoge der jüdischen Gemeinde Külsheims.
Erbaut 1796, wurde sie während der Pogromnacht am
09./10. November 1938 geplündert und fiel in Sommer
1943 einem Brand zum Opfer.
Mit der Deportation der Badischen Juden am
22. Oktober 1940 in das Lager Gurs (Südfrankreich) und
der Zerstörung dieses Hauses endete nach fast
600 Jahren die Geschichte der jüdischen Gemeinde
in Külsheim.

Translation: Former Külsheim synagogue. House of meeting and prayer. At this site, in the former Judenschulgasse, stood the synagogue of the Jewish community in Külsheim. Built in 1796, it was looted during the pogrom night on November 9/10, 1938, and fell victim to a fire in the summer of 1943. With the deportation of the Baden Jews on October 22, 1940, to the Gurs camp (southern France) and the destruction of this house, this almost ended the 600 years of history of the Jewish community in Külsheim.
