Jewish victims of the Holocaust from the Šurany region and the surrounding area.
This monument is located in the Jewish cemetery in Vinodol. It consists of a horizontal structure, resembling part of a railway, which lies on a stone embankment, and several uneven stone posts of different heights, standing on the back side of the structure. A metal Magen David is attached between two posts. On the front side of the monument, a black horizontal plaque with Slovak, English, and Hebrew inscriptions lies on the stone embankment.

Commissioned by
Vladimir Špánik, the Head of the Zoulus civic association and a member of the town council.
On May 8-11, 1944, Jews from Vinodol and the Šurany region were deported to the Šurany ghetto and later to the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp.
In 2021, a member of the Vinodol town council and the Head of the Zoulus civic association Vladimir Špánik, together with Roma children, restored the demolished Jewish cemetery in Vinodol through a crowdfunded initiative. They cleaned up the territory and repaired tombstones. After completing the restoration, they erected a Holocaust monument in the cemetery.
The unveiling ceremony took place on May 11, 2023, on the 79th anniversary of the deportation of the Jews from Vinodol and the Šurany region. Nigel Baker, British Ambassador to Slovakia, and the Austrian ambassador, Rabbi Misha Kapustin from Bratislava, took part in the ceremony.
