139 Jewish Holocaust victims of Trikkala and Karditsa

Description

The memorial fills much of the entrance (side) wall of the synagogue sanctuary, to the left as one faces the Torah ark. It consists of five rectangular marble plaques arranged around a large wall relief (in plaster?) of the emblem of the State of Israel (a menorah, flanked by olive branches, with the word Israel written below in Hebrew.

Four plaques are vertical and list names of victims. These are mounted as pairs on each side of the emblem. Beneath the emblem is a horizontal panel with a long commemorative text inscribed in Greek.
