Description:
The monument is situated in the compound of the Jewish Sholom Aleikhem ORT Gymnasium. It is a composition of granite blocks arranged as three stairs, the middle of the three being slightly moved to the right. A pen is placed on this middle stair.
A metal plaque with the name of the monument, the dates of World War Two, the names of the author and donors is located on the left-hand side, under a bench.

The monument to the children of the Vilnius Ghetto was financed by the Finkelstein, Maizel, Todes, and Žiburkus families.
It was unveiled on September 23, 2016, the anniversary of the annihilation of the Vilnius Ghetto (the Lithuanian Holocaust Memorial Day). Representatives of the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry, the chairwoman of the Lithuanian Jewish Community, and the Israeli ambassador to Lithuania participated in the ceremony.
The principal of the school, Miša Jakobas, said that the stairs symbolize what remained from a destroyed and burned down house. "We must do everything that all that remained behind those stairs, should never be repeated."
