Jewish victims of the Holocaust from Rijeka
Description:
The monument is installed at the main entrance to the synagogue, on the right-hand side of the entrance door. It comprises a niche of uneven form, sided by grey marble and framed by white marble. A Magen David and an inscription in Croatian with a Hebrew phrase are situated in the niche. A simplified menorah is situated under the niche. An electrical cable at the top point of the niche indicates that there was a memorial lamp.

The Jewish community of Rijeka
The city of Rijeka was under Italian occupation until 1943. After the German army occupied the city in late 1943, about 260 Jews were sent to death camps.
A memorial plaque in memory of the victims was fixed next to the entrance door to the synagogue in 1958.
