The following description was prepared by William Gross:
This is a special large parchment page telling the story of a miraculous event, later celebrated in special Purim celebrations. Such special, personal Purim stories are known from many places in the world. When a special event resulted in the saving of Jewish lives, it would often be celebrated yearly as a special Purim. This written and decorated sheet tells the story of the saving of the Joseph Meisel family in Prague in 1748. This particular sheet is a copy made for the 100th anniversary of the event in 1848. The original appeared for sale a few years ago and is now in the Jewish Museum in Prague.
