The following description was prepared by William Gross:

The subtle colors, the combination of the vegetal and geometric design and the arch with an almost closed circle are very typical of Mogador, a coastel city in Morocco. The city was founded only in the last half of the 18th century and had a Jewish population representing almost 40% of the total inhabitants. Many of the Jews worked in commerce and the city was a major center of export and import. Many of the Mogador families had branches in England. This wedding took place in Mogador on September 18, 1856 (18 Elul 5616)

Bride:                                Chanina bat Yitzhak ben Shalom Aschiki

Groom:                             Yosef ben Avraham ben Massoud Afriat
