Description:

A white marble plaque with a dedicatory text in Croatian is attached to the chapel in the Jewish cemetery of Đakovo. It is attached to the western wall of the chapel, facing the cemetery.

U spomen na Stjepana Kolba (1886 – 1945),
grobara Đakovačkog groblja,
zahvaljujući čijoj hrabrosti I ljudskosti
su popisane I dostojno pokopane sve žrtve
sabirnog logora Đakovo, a ovo logoraško
groblje učinjeno jedinstvenim u cijeloj
Europi.

Translation: In memory of Stjepan Kolb (1886 – 1945), gravedigger of the Đakovo cemetery, thanks to whose courage and humanity all the victims of the Đakovo concentration camp were listed and decently buried, and this camp cemetery was made unique in all of Europe. The city of Đakovo. The Jewish community of Osijek. Đakovo, June 2016.
