The surface of the painting is divided horizontally in two parts, light and dark, according to the principle of the golden section. The lower part is black. A vertically placed inscription in white cursive Hebrew letters quotes the verse of the Bible: "Ve amar Elohim ihie or ve ihie or..." [And God said:"Let there be light"; and there was light...] (Genesis, 1:3). The inscription ends at the bottom of the picture by the date written in Cyrillic cursive letters: 8.12.23 fevralya [February] 1978. The upper part of the painting is occupied by the text imitating a page from a book. It includes poems of the artist written at different times both in Jerusalem and in Moscow. The background of this part is white, the text is written by a thin brush in black cursive Cyrillic letters.

Summary and Remarks
The key to the conception of the work is contained in final words of the text: "Jerusalem of the Heaven and Jerusalem of the Judaic Mounts is a symbol of a person and his divine origin. The destruction of Jerusalem construction is attempt upon the person". The artist considers the creation of Jerusalem analogous to the creation the Light.
