Upper half: A miller standing at the entrance to a mill equipped with a water wheel.
From the right a man approaching leading a donkey carrying a sack of wheat.
Inscribed:
הבעל עם עבדו היה (!) קטטה/ על שמאחר להביא החטה
“The master argued with his servant because he brought the wheat late.”
Lower half, right: Two men standing near a well arguing. One of them carries a metal bucket.
Inscribed:
מפלפלים הלומדים זה עם זה/ אם לשאוב מן המעיין הלזה
“The scholars discuss with one another whether to draw (water) from this fountain.”
Lower half, left: Two men carrying a bucket of water on a pole which rests on their shoulders.
Inscribed:
המים על שכמם עמוסים/ ללוש מצה כדי לספר נסים
“On their shoulders rests the water for kneading the matzah, in order to recount miracles.”
