Fol. 61: Instructions on how to defend a fortress against its enemy, seen on the right: by hanging a large wickerwork rectangle from the walls and moving it to and fro (cf. fol. 30v); by preparing large baskets of stones, earth and ashes to throw at the enemy; and by hurling the enemy down from their ladders when they climb up, using long poles.
