Fol. 45v: In the upper part and at the centre of the text space the initial words "King" (מלך) for the opening strophes of the yozer “King girded with power” (מלך אזור גבורה) (Davidson, III, מ, 1529) are written in dark brown display script within panels which occupy the width of the text space. The ground of the panels is arranged in vertical alternating green and red filigree pen-work sections. Double-framed medallions in red and green scalloped motif, enclosing caricatural human and dogs' heads on blue and red ground, flank each side of the initial words. Two vertical panels attached to the horizontal panels along the right side of the text space contain the initial letters of the second words of each strophe of the piyyut, written in smaller display script (following alphabetic order). Three smaller medallions encircling a human, a grotesque and a lamb's head on blue and red ground, are placed under the initial letters of the vertical panels. Bow-shaped patterns in alternating red and blue surround the panels, while tendrils extend from the corners into the upper and lower margins and along the left-hand side of the text column, embracing the black graphic fillers at the end of the strophes.
