Description

The monument is located at the place of the entrance to the Rivne ghetto. It is a part of a brick wall, damaged on the left side. The wall has a rectangular opening which has a metal frame and a metal Menorah within it. To the left of the opening, a white plaque with Ukrainian, English and Hebrew inscriptions is attached. A metal suitcase stands in front of the wall.

На цьому місці знаходився вʼїзд у гетто – місце примусового утримання
євреїв м. Рівне в час його окупації нацистською Німеччиною. Впродовж
грудня 1941 – середини липня 1942 рр. у ньому поневірялося понад
5 тис. людей (з-поміж них – 1300 дітей). Нацисти вивезли їх потягом до
м. Костопіль, де безжалісно розстріляли.

Translation: At this place, the entrance to the ghetto was located – the place of detention of the Jews of Rivne city during the Nazi Germany occupation. During December 1941 – mid-July 1942, more than 5,000 people (including 1,300 children) suffered there. The Nazis have brought them to Kostopil city, where [they] ruthlessly shot [them]. People of Rivne remember.

This place marks the entrance to the ghetto – the place of the forced
detention of Rivne Jews during the occupation by Nazi Germany. During
December 1941 – mid–July 1942, more than 5 thousand people (including
1,300 children) suffered in the ghetto. Then, the Nazis took them by train to
Kostopil, where they all were ruthlessly shot.

במקום הזה היתה הכניסה לגטו, שבו יהודי ריבנה הוחזקו בכפייה בתוך כדי כיבוש
העיר על-ידי גרמנייה הנאצית. במשך דצמבר בשנת 1941 עד האמצע יולי בשנת 1942
בגטו סבלו יותר מ-5000 אנשים (ובתוכם - 1300 ילדים). נצאיים הסי[ע]ו אותם ברכבת
לעיר קוסטופיל איפה ירו לעבר ללא חמדה.
תושבי ריבנה זוכרים.


Translation: At this place, there was the entrance to the ghetto, in which Jews of Rivne were forcibly kept during the occupation of the city by Nazi Germany. During December 1941 until the mid-July of 1942, more than 5,000 people (including 1,300 children) were suffering there.
