Description

The following description was prepared by William Gross:

Written on a long piece of parchment, this amulet carries a variety of visual symbols. Most prominent is the stylized recognizalble figures of Lilith and the 3 angels that appear on almost all the work of this scribe in the lower part of the scroll. On this example appear as well several magic squares with a large one depicting the 72-letter name of God. The purpose of the amulet is to protect the mother and child as well as ease fears and anxieties. This a personalized amulet but the name of the owner has been erased. The length of the amulet is framed by text.

In the Gross Family Collection there are 8 other amulets written by the same scribe - 027.011.281, 027.011.399, 027.011.691 on paper and 027.012.065, 027.012.076,  027.012.094, 027.012.105, and 027.012.260.
