A book about Jerusalem in a particularly small format with drawings of the holy places (some in golden frames). The author, Tuvia Solomon (1862-1951), printer, poet, author and scholar, son of Yoel Moshe Solomon. See S. Halevi 456 (Halevi notes "contains very interesting material about Jerusalem"). This small book for the pocket was in essence a guide to the Holy places in Jerusalem
This volume of Sefer Yerushalayim by Tuvia ben Yoel Moshe Solomon is the first miniature book printed in Israel. It contains geographical and historical information about Jerusalem and its holy sites, with illustrated plates of these sites on the facing pages. Images include: the Temple Mount, the City of David, and Beit Yaakov Synagogue.
Tuvia Solomon was a son of the printer Yoel Moshe Solomon, founder of Nachalat Shiva, the first neighborhood outside of the walls of the Old City. Tuvia Solomon, the author, took over the administration of the printing press together with his brother Dovid.
