This text was prepared by William Gross:
The name of this book refers to the name of the author, who was the ritual slaughterer in Livorno. This is a compilation of laws regarding his proFezsion which he wrote. This is the only edition published. The volume is distinguished by a number of folding plate illustrations illuminating the text, showing those animals and situations which make meat kosher or not kosher. This probably exists no other book before the 20th century that contains so many illustrations concerning the subject of ritual slaughter.
