While the dreidle is an integral part of contemporary Chanukah celebrations, such objects from periods earlier than the 20th century are difficult to find. This dreidle with its raised Hebrew letters was created in Eretz Israel. Simple molds for the casting of lead were easy to make and this was a common way of making dreidles in the Holy Land. It is difficult to ascertain the exact time of its making.
