Description

This text was prepared by William Gross:

This edition of the two part Machzor is a reprint of an earlier edition published in london.  Even the copper engraved, illustrated frontispiece, signed by F.N. Rolffsen, is taken from the London print. The prayers for the first day of Passover are illustrated by a particularly charming depiction of the signs of the zodiac. A Yiddish commentary is printed below the Hebrew prayers. On the final page the names of the printers are presented in two unusual geometric forms.

The inscription on the bindings reads: LEAH, WIFE OF REB YA'AKOV
