Description

The following description was prepared by William Gross:

This printed amulet is unusual in that it was printed in the uncommon press of munkacs, in that is based on kabbalah, and in that part of it is printed in Aramaic.  The top portion is from rabbi Shimshon Astrapoli.  The bottom part is printed with the 42-letter name of god and its kabbalistic interpretation by the kabbalistic rabbi marib"sh of zamosht. This is an amulet for general protection and good luck. This example uses several types of decorative borders and frames. The gross collection contains another version of this amulet printed in the city of Munkacs.
