The following description was prepared by William Gross:
The scroll begins with a dominant image, a depiction of Lilith, a particular form of that evil spirit that was used in Iraqi Kurdistan and found on Kabbalistic manuscripts from that area. The image representsa bound or chained Lilith, with outspread arms on each of which is drawn a sword or knife which a typical symbol against her power. It appears that this was ordered for a new born male child, whose name is ????? ben Chavivah.
As well the text is full of "names" amd formulae for a more general protection of the bearer. This may be the lower part of a longer amulet as there are needle marks on the upper part of this parchment which could show that there was an upper part once sewn to this section.
Made For: ????? ben Chavivah
