Combination of different techniques of embroidery and applique on silk velvet with silver thread galoon on two long sides. The inscription is raised silver thread laid sticth embroidery. The crown is on a carton foundation with couched gold.

The following description was prepared by William Gross:     

This is a rather typical Alsatian parochet from the last quarter of the 19th century, both with the regard to the symbols and with regard to the heavy couching work for the embroidery. This Meil is donated by a couple from the community of Hagenau, one of the larger Jewish communities of the very many that were in Alsace.     

Inscription:  Keter Torah.       The donation of the honorable Menachem bar Moshe Tzvi Koifman and his wife Mrs. Tzipor bat Yospal Ziman from the Holy Community of Haguenau (5)649 [1889] according to the minor reckoning
