The following description was prepared by William Gross:
In the first forty years of the 20th century there was still a large Yiddish speaking population, enough so that large companies produced special runs of their products with labels in Yiddish. This is an example of a tin of ground ginger that was meant to be sold in such Jewish neighborhoods with the notice that it is Kosher for Pesach. The Hudson Teas and Spice Co. was located in Brooklyn.
