Description

The Book of Esther in Hebrew inscribed in a codex form. It begins with the benedictions recited before the reading of the Megillah that are proceeded by a heading written in red ink. The same ink was used in the initial words of all three benedictions (ברוך) that are written in enlarged letters. The only decoration in the manuscript surrounds the opening word of the Megillah (ויהי) that is placed in a central part of it. It is enclosed between two cornucopias facing up and above it, a basket with fruits is placed. Each cornucopia is supported by a rampant lion. The decoration and the text are framed by red lines. 

The manuscript is housed in a wooden case.
