The Hebrew text of the Book of Esther is inscribed within the rectangular text panels. They are surrounded by floral decoration (they fill the upper margins and spaces between the panels) and illustrations chronicling the Esther story narrative (they totally fill the lower margins).

The scroll is mounted on a wooden turned roller.
