године деловала је јеврејска
болница у којој су лечени Јеврејии
наши суграђани. Марта 1942.
године, Гестапо је одвео све
лекаре, болничко особље све
болесника, покретним гасним
камионом – душегупком, у смрт.

Translation: This building of the Jewish women's society, in 1941-42 housed the Jewish hospital which treated our Jewish citizens. In March 1942, Gestapo took all Jewish doctors, hospital staff and 800 patients to their deaths in a mobile gas chamber truck. / May it never be forgotten and never happen again! / Jewish women's society MAZAL

History/Provenance

Founded in 1874 by the Sephardic women, the Jewish women's society was the first women's association of its kind in Serbia. During World War 2 it hosted the Jewish hospital. In 1942, the Gestapo rounded staff and 800 patients and took them away for execution.
