Jewish Funerary Art Site of the Old Jewish cemetery in Chojnice, Poland
According to ESJF European Jewish Cemeteries Initiative, the Old Jewish cemetery in Chojnice (Mickiewicza Street) was established in the 18th century, when the Jewish community was set up. Its area was 0.5 ha. It served the community for approximately 100 years. There were no burials there in the interwar period. It was destroyed by the Germans during World War II. Currently, the area is fenced, but no matzevot have survived. For many years there was a playground on the cemetery side from the side of Zielona Street.
