Jewish Funerary Art Old Jewish cemetery in Frysztak, Poland
According to ESJF European Jewish Cemeteries Initiative, the old Jewish cemetery in Frysztak was likely established in the 17th century. The cemetery was fenced thanks to the efforts of the Nissenbaum Foundation.
There is a metal fence. There are about 20 gravestones. None of the tombstones have a legible inscription with dates. According to sztetl.org, before WWII, there was a tombstone in the cemetery that dated from 1650. According to the research of FODZ, the oldest tombstone that was found and readable in the cemetery was dated to 1878. There is a fenced grave in the cemetery which belongs to Esther Etel the daughter of Rabbi Elimelekh, the Tzadik from Lezajsk.
The cemetery is located on the left of 10, Gołębiowskiego Street, behind the building.
