Jewish Funerary Art New Jewish cemetery in Strzyżów, Poland - Photos of 2020
To the main object: New Jewish cemetery in Strzyżów, Poland
There is an ohel dedicated to Rabbi Alter Zeew Horowitz. His matzevot is decorated with lions supporting the crown, and the inscription below reads: "The Lord's Ark was taken from us by force. We walked in the light of his teachings and instructions, he taught us wisdom and knowledge, a rabbi and guide, he lived 45 years in our community. May the merits of his teachings and prayers protect us. Woe to us who remain like a flock without a shepherd. On Pesach evening, we made a holy sacrifice". The first letters of each line, read vertically, form the name of the deceased: Alter Zeew.
There is a metal fence. At the entrance to the cemetery there is a plaque with the inscription: "The fence of the cemetery was built by the Nissenbaum family foundation - Warsaw, in agreement with Rabbi Samuel Teitelbaum, Rabbi Josef Chaim Frenkel, Rabbi Abraham Frenkel from New York."
