According to the plaque published by the Museum, this memorial was laid out in August of 2015 by the children of the Vilnius Roma Community (Kirtimai day centre) together with the staff of the Vilna Gaon State Jewish Museum, to commemorate International Roma Holocaust Remembrance Day (August 2).
