Description:

The monument is located near Ono Šimaites Street (Ono Šimaites is one of the Righteous Among the Nations who rescued Jews from the Vilnius Ghetto) and near the Missionaries Monastery, which was the site of the final selection on the last day of the annihilation of the Vilnius Ghetto on September 23, 1943.

A black polished marble stele bears identical inscriptions in Lithuanian, English, and Yiddish on its upper part. Underneath, there are the Star of David and the coat of arms of Lithuania.

The memorial was unveiled on September 21, 2018, in the presence of the chairwoman of the Jewish community of Lithuania, Faina Kukliansky, the Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Linas Linkevičius, the mayor of Vilnius Remigijus Šimašius, the Catholic Archbishop of Vilnius Gintaras Grušas, and others.
