Tzfenat Pe'anach by Yosef ben Shlomo Finkelstein, Lemberg, 1844

© Gross Family Collection, Photographer: Unknown,

This text was prepared by William Gross:

This book deals with various issues of Jewish law, including some aspects of kashrut and ritual slaughter.  In the book is brightly colored picture of the lungs, one of the main areas of checking for disease or blemishes that render the animal not kosher.  While the author comes from Miskolc and the title page says that it was published in Pest, the actual place of printing was in Lemberg (Lviv)
