Modern Jewish Art
  Sgan-Cohen, Mountain

© Center for Jewish Art, Photographer: Radovan, Zev, 05.1994

A mountain is depicted in broad brown strokes at the center of the canvas against blue skies with bright white clouds. A bearded man sits to the right of the base of the mountain facing towards the viewer. His elbows rest on his bent knees and his face is supported by both hands. The finger of each hand form a V under each eye. His head and hands are painted on a different piece of stretched canvas, which is superimposed on the larger canvas. The man appears to be an artist himself. An object resembling a geometric satellite floats in the sky in the top left corner.
