The wooden torah^case consists of a body and a crown. ##The cylindrical body is framed by friezes. The upper border is encircled by a frieze bearing a dedicatory inscription,while the other friezes bear foliate patterns. A rectangular silver plaque topped by two semi-circular arches, is attached, adjacent to the border of the case opening. this plaque bears a dedicatory inscription. The inner face is covered with white cotton with black strips. The onion-shaped crown is composed of a main section, a crest and an apex. ##The undulating crest, mounted over the main part, is surmounted by an bud-shaped apex. Two metal rimon mounts are fixed to the crown. ##Two crown-shaped paper dedicatory plaques are attached to the inner face, and are covered by glass. The borders of the plaques are decorated with flowers growing from pots. The dedicatory inscription on the upper border of the body repousse in outline letters. It reads from the right: תיק זה וס!ת) וספר תורה( שבו הקדשתי אני באבאי שמואל בושרי פרםי והוה לזכר עול' )עולם( !This case and the Torah scroll (int.) inside it is dedicated by me Babai Samuel Busheri Persian for eternal memory! The dedicatory inscription on the rectangular plaque reads: קודש לה'## לע'נ אבינו היקר החזן## ר' באבאי בן שמואל ז!ל ## שנפתר ב' בשבט תש! ## לע!נ אמנו היקרה ## מרת שמחה בת אםתר ז!ל## שנפתרה יט' בשבטתשכ!ט## ת'נ'צ'ב'ה )תהי נשמתו צרורה בצרור החיים( !Dedicated to the Lord##for the exaltation of the soul of (int.)## our dear father the cantor ## Rabbi (int.) Babai son of Samuel, in blessed memory (int.), who passed away on the 2nd of Shevat (5)700=(1940), For the exaltation of the soul of (int.) our dear mother ## Mrs. Simha daughter of Esther of blessed memory (int.)## who passed away on the 19th of Shevat (5)729=(1969), ##may their soul be bound up in the bound of life (int.)! The dedicatory inscription on the inner face of the crown appears on eight lines, in black full letters, and reads from the right: בס!ד## וזאת התורה## אשר שם משה ##לפני בני ישראל## תןרה צוה לנו משה## מורשה קהלת יעקב## שנת ע!זרת!ה לנו## כת!ר !With the Lord's help (int.)!, followed by Deut.4:44, Deut33:4 The inscription continues on the left: תיק זה ו##וס!ת )וספר תורה( שבו הקדיש באבאי ן! שמואל ## בושרו זכות סת!תגן בעדו## וב! שמחה אשתו ןלזרעו אחריו##וב! דוד וישי אחיו וכל זרעם ## אחריהם: אמן כן יהי רצון: ## תורה !This case## and the Torah scroll (int.) inside it has been donated by Babai Son of Samuel##
