The wooden Torah^case consists of a ten-faceted body and a coronet. Two pairs of faceted annulets encircle the upper and lower borders of the body. Eleven wooden knobs for hanging the Torah case wrapper are attached to the upper border. An ogee arch-like silver plaque, attached at both sides of the case's opening, bears a dedicatory inscription against a punched background. The inner face is plain wood. The hollow bottom has oval hand holders and three round holes. The hollow top is decorated with five round holes. Two rods are at the top of the case. The coronet is ten-faceted. Each facet is decorated with symmetrical openwork of a floral pattern. The dedicatory inscription is chaised in square outline letters. The first line has to be read horizontaly, the others are divided into two columns starting from the right: קדש % לה" ##למנוחת ##הנער ##התמים ## והטהור ##ביראת ## ה" חפצו ##ותורתו המנוח ## אמנואל ## זוארץ נ"ע )נוחו עדן( ## שנלבע ## יום ב'## מרחשון ## התשי "Dedicated to % the Lord ## for the repose of## the young man ## the honest ## and the pure ##in the piety of the Lord is his delight and his Law" "The lateZu'arez, may he rest in Eden (int.)## who passed away##the 2nd ## Marheshvan ## 5710=(25.10.1949)
