The following description was prepared by William Gross:

Written on a very long piece of parchment, this amulet carries a variety of visual symbols. Most prominent is the stylized recognizable figures of Lilith and the 3 angels that appear on almost all the work of this scribe in the lower part of the scroll. The amulet turns to the power of the four rivers of paradise as listed in Kabbalah. The image of a Magen David provides additional Kabbalistic protection. The purpose of the amulet is to protect the mother and child as well as easing fears and anxieties. The amulet was made for Rashil bat Simchah. The length of the amulet is framed by text.

In the Gross Family Collection there are 8 other amulets written by the same scribe - 027.011.281, 027.011.399, 027.011.691 on paper and 027.023.065, 027.012.076, 027.012.089, 027.012.094 and 027.012.105.

Made For:                        Rashil bat Simchah
