The following description was prepared by William Gross:

This is the second amulet written for Yehudah ben Amam in the Gross Family Collection. This amulet is only text, listing many angel names. The opening words of the amulet are angel names, something quite unusual. The amulet  is present here with its original leather sewn pouch. See 027.012.060 for a similar amulet made for the same individual. The other amulet for him is illustrated and at the very bottom of this amulet is depicted a very stylized hamsa, on which is inscribed the priestly blessing. It is stated that the amulet is written in the month of Tamuz and that the owner of the amulet, Yehudah, was born in Nisan, the same month as some of the angels. The purpose of the amulet is to guard against fears, evil spirits and the evil eye, as well as to protect his health.

Made For:      Yehudah ben Amam
