Description

A white marble rectangular plaque inscribed in Hebrew and German with red lettering is affixed to the exterior wall to the left of the entrance to Judenplaz 8, the Museum Judenplatz.

 בס"ד [=בסיעתא דשמיא]
בתודה ובהוקרה לחסידי אומות העולם. אשר בשנות השואה
מוכנים היו הקריב את נפשם כדי להציל יהודים מידי
רודפיהם הנאצים ימ"ש [=ימח שמם].
חקהילות היהודיות באוסטריה
וינה. בחודש ניסן תשס"א

Translation: With God's assistance [Used by Orthodox Jews as opening to a text] // In gratitude and acknowledgment to the Righteous among the nations, who in the years of Shoah were ready to sacrifice their souls to save Jews from the Nazi persecutors, may their names be obliterated // Jewish communities of Austria // Vienna, Nisan, 5761 [=2001]
