The blue parokhet is made of silk velvet.##The rectangular cloth is composed of three pieces. A dedicatory inscription appears in the centre of the cloth. It is surrounded by a foliage frame and topped by a pointed arch filled with foliage patterns. There is a flower next to each corner of the inscription. The background of the cloth is depicted by stars. A foliate runner surrounds the cloth. A flower turning to the centre depicts the corners of the cloth.##A fringes ribbon is attached to the borders of the cloth.##The dedicatory inscription is embroidered in filled outline letters: את פרכת המסך להיכל##הקדש עוז והדר לבושה##מזהב ומשי לתהלה ולקדושה##לפאר בית ה' אשר חשקה נפשה##שתקנה והכינה לכבוד רם ונשא##האשה הכה!ץ רחל ת!ם##למנוחת בעלה מורישה ה!ה##היקר וחשוב רודף צדקה וחסד##כה!ר מנחם גאביזין ב!ר כ!ה יום טוב נ!ע שנלב!ע בשלישי בשבת##שלשה ימים לח' אלול המרוצה##שנת הולך לדודי למישרים##לפ!ק פא טיטואן יעא' ת'נ'צ'ב'ה' The vail of the covering (Ex. 35:12) for the heikhal (Torah Ark)##dedicated for the strength and the honour are her cloth (Prov. 31:25)##of gold and silk for glory and holiness to adorn the house of the Lord as her soul longeth (based on Gen. 34:8)##which was repaired and prepared for the high and lofty One (based on Isa. 57:15) The woman, the honoured and modest Rachel, blessed above women (based on judg. 5:24)## she inherits for the rest of her husband, surely##the dear and important he that followeth after righteousness and mercy (Prov. 21:21) The honourable Rabbi Menahem Gavizin, son of Rabbi, the honourable Rabbi Yomtov##may he rest in Eden, who passed away on Tuseday##3rd in month Elul##the year (?)##here Tatuan, may He build His city, amen may he be bound up in the bond of life!
