Workshop C. Full page illustration (210 x 185 mm) consisting of five concentric circles. In the outer circle are the Italian names of the twelve signs of the zodiac written in Latin characters in a contemporary Italian hand, corresponding to the depiction of the twelve signs painted in grisaille on a blue ground within the next circle (from the top clockwise): "Sagitario" as centaur holding a bow "Chaprichornio" as a sea goat, "Aquario" as a naked male figure pouring water out of a jug, "Pisces" as two inverted fish, "Ariete" as a ram, "Tauro" as a front part of a bull, "Gemini" as naked male and a female embracing, "Chancer" as a crab, "Leo" as a lion, "Virgho" as a young woman holding a branch of leaves, "Libra" as a pair of scales, "Ischorpio" as a scorpion. In the third circle, upon a pink and white ground, is a Hebrew inscription which says (from the top, moving counter clockwise): עושר עושר מביא לידי עזות "WEALTH Wealth leads to pride. עזות עזות מביא לידי שנאה PRIDE Pride leads to hatred. שנאה שנאה מביאה לידי עניות HATRED Hatred leads to poverty. עניות מביא לידי ענוה POVERTY Poverty leads to meekness. ענוה ענוה מביאה לידי אהבה MEEKNESS Meekness leads to love. אהבה אהבה מביאה לידי עושר LOVE Love leads to wealth". The illustrations corresponding to this text are depicted within the next circle against a green background. They consist of: a young man in a blue mantle holding a staff (wealth); a young man in a red robe (pride); a man screaming, being attacked from behind by a smaller figure with a raised sword (hatred); a man dressed as a traveller carrying a staff and a sack with a flask hanging from his hip (poverty); a young man holding a blue disc with a lamb on it, in one hand and pointing to the lamb with the other (meekness); a couple embracing (love). Within the innermost circle, on a blue background, is a heart inscribed with the effaced Hebrew letter >"Aleph"> א surmounted by a triple cross, with an X on top.
