Text page of the Passover Haggadah containing an initial word panel for “It is therefore” (לפיכך) within a panel which occupies the width of the text space. The panel is decorated on top with two arches, executed in the first stage of decoration. Another two small initial word panels executed in pen-work are in the left and right text columns decorated with extensions were added in the second stage of decoration.

The initial word is written in burnished gold display letters outlined in red and set on a blue ground decorated below with two dragons with interlaced foliate tails, each wearing a mantel and facing upwards. The inner space of the arches is filled with the ascender of the letter Lamed on the right and with a hovering bird on the left. The panel is framed by red and purple borders filled with a running chevron pattern and decorated above with flowers in each of the outer corners and between the arches.
