The cylindrical Torah case consists of a body and a crown covered with decorated silver sheets.

The case opens in the center, forming two halves. It is closed in its front by two hook clasps.

The upper border of the body is surmounted by a vertical lily-like crenellation alternating with red beads.

The body is decorated with an all-over pattern of rounded rhombuses attached by flowers. Each rhombus contains a palm tree and framed with small dots.

The upper and the lower borders of the body are encircled by a band bearing a dedicatory inscription. The inscription is written in square filled letters. On the upper band it reads:

Translation: This case and Torah scroll inside it was made by Miriam the daughter of Hana, blessed shall she be above all women in the tent (Judg. 5:24), for the soul of her pitted daughter Rachel, may her soul be bound up in the bond of life

It continues on the lower band:

Translation: For anywhere that the owners of the Torah scroll want to take it out and transfer it to other places, the permission is in their hands and in their representatives, the year (5)666=1906

The crown consists of a main section, a crest and an apex.

The onion-shaped main section bears a pattern, similar to that of the body, alternating with narrow vertical strips of small leaves.

The undulating silver crest comprises of a cut-cone lower part separated from the onion-shaped upper part by a compressed globe. The crest is decorated with foliate and geometrical motives. Nine rings are attached to its upper part.

A bud-like apex is mounted over the crest.

Two bars for finials are attached to both sides of the crown.

The inner face of the body is plain wood.

The interior surface of the crown bears dedicatory plaques following the shape of the main section. The plaques are decorated with verses and dedicatory inscriptions.

The inscriptions are placed in the architectonic arched frame. They are written in six lines from right to left in square-filled letters.

On the right plaque it reads:

Translation: And this is the law which Moses set before the children of Israel. These are the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments and laws.”(Deut.4:44-45, Levit. 26:46)

On the left plaque it reads:

Translation: This case and Torah scroll inside it was made by the old (woman) Miriam the daughter of Hana for the repose of her daughter, the pitied Rachel, may her soul be bound up in the bond of life.

The inscriptions are flanked by flowers.
