The synagogue of the Sisak Jewish community.

Description:

A simple metal plaque is attached to the right of the entrance to the former synagogue. Sometime between 1999 and 2021 it was replaced by a new plaque. While the Croatian inscription remained the same, the Hebrew one has changed.

Translation: This synagogue was built in 1880 by the Sisak Jews and served until 1941.

As documented in 2021:

בית כנסת זה הוקם
בשנת 1880 ע"י יהודי סיסק
ושימש עד שנת 1941
כאשר הושמדה הקהילה היהודית של סיסק בשואה

Translation: This synagogue was built in 1880 by the Sisak Jews and served until 1941, when the Jewish community of Sisak was destroyed in the Holocaust.

Croatian (both in 1999 and 2021 versions):

U ovoj zgradi je bila sinagoga od
njezine izgradnje i blagoslova
1880.g. do uništenja sisačke židovske
zajednice u holokaustu 1941 g.

Translation: This building housed a synagogue since its construction and inauguration in 1880 until the destruction of Sisak's Jewish community in the Holocaust in 1941.
