Site of the New Jewish cemetery in Czerwińsk nad Wisłą, Poland

© ESJF European Jewish Cemeteries Initiative, Photographer: ESJF European Jewish Cemeteries Initiative, 2021

According to ESJF European Jewish Cemeteries Initiative, the New Jewish Cemetery in Czerwińsk was established around 1935, after the old cemetery became overcrowded. It covered an area of 0.30 hectares and was located about a kilometre from the town centre, behind the parish ditch, on the southern side of Polna Street. The cemetery was destroyed during World War II. No tombstones have survived. Currently, there are fields there. The layout of the former cemetery is imperceptible.

The absence of precise historical info about the cemetery makes it not clear whether the site was a Jewish or Catholic graveyard (as it is marked on the old maps) and requires additional historical research.

Perimeter length: 206 metres

The cemetery site is situated along the southern side of Praga Street. The territory begins 100 meters to the west of the residential property on Praga, 27A. in Czerwinsk.
