The cylindrical case is composed of a base, a body and a lid. The cup like base bears a wreath of vertical palmettes. The bottom part of the body bears a wreath of acanthus leaves. There is a shield in the center supported by a lion rampnat regardant on either side. The inscription in the shield reads: "The scroll of Esther". The shield is surmounted by a crown and has an oval but smooth shield underneath it. There is a scroll under each lion that winds backwards and meets up with the scroll from the opposite lion. At the top of the body there is a round ring decorated with alternating diamonds and dots surmounted by a foliate design. The lid of the case is conal and shaped like a crown with six arms decorated with dots and surmounted bya globular apex. There is a clasp in the center of the lid.
