The building is of the split-story type, whereby an internal division of an apparently single-story structure is used to create a women’s gallery.  This internal division is often represented on the exterior, as it is here: the sanctuary’s fenestration is more monumental than that of the gallery, whose height reflects the internal division.

The interior is divided by two rows of wooden columns supporting the ceiling.  Although the original Torah Ark does not exist, a Bimah is still to be found in the center of the sanctuary space.  The Bimah consists of a low podium with four wooden columns that reach the ceiling.  The square above the Bimah is decorated with a Star of David inscribed “How goodly are your tents, O Jacob”.  The Bimah is fenced on the south and north sides.
