Description:

A metal plaque is placed on a wall of a building, facing the parking lot where the synagogue of Zagreb once stood.

The plaque contains an image of the synagogue’s main façade, and two inscriptions in Hebrew and Croatian.

Hebrew:

במקום הזה עמד בית-הכנסת
המרכזי של ק"ק זגרב ההוקם
בשנת 1867 ונהרס על-ידי הפשי-
סטים בימי-השואה בשנת 1941

Translation: In this place stood the central synagogue of the holy community of Zagreb that was built in 1867 and destroyed by the fascists in the time of the Holocaust in 1941

Croatian:

Na ovom je mjestu stajała si-
nagoga zagrebačke židovske
zajednice sagrađena 1867 i
srušena po fašističkim vla-
stima 1941 godine

Translation: In this place stood the synagogue of the Zagreb Jewish community, built in 1867 and demolished by the fascist authorities in 1941.
