The pear-shaped dedicatory plaque encloses a Hebrew inscription framed by a line following the form of the plaque. The inscription is arranged in eleven lines and is written in square, outlined letters that read:

"אל/ שדי/ יברכך ה'/ וישמרך יאר/ ה' פניו אליך/ ויחונך ישא ה'/ פניו אליך וישם/ לך שלום ושמ (ושמו)/ א (את) ש (שמי) עביוא (על בני ישראל ואני אברכם; ברכת כהנים - במדבר ו:כד-כז) כמיל (אותיות ראשונות של 'כי מלאכיו יצוה לך', תהלים צא:יא ?)/ יוהך (אותיות אחרונות של המילים באותו פסוק ?) ש' (שנת) תרמב לפ''ק (לפרט קטן)/ א ניסן"

"El Shadai (God Almighty), 'May the Lord bless thee and keep thee. The Lord make His face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee. The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace. And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel; and I will bless them.' (Priestly Benediction - Num. 6:24-27) Kmil (the first letters of the words from the verse 'For he shall give his angels charge over thee' Ps. 91:11 ?) Iohv  (the last letters of the words from the same verse ?). The year 5642, the first of Nisan (21.03.1882)."

A suspension ring is at the top of the plaque.
