Modern Jewish Art  Akselrod, Stage design for "The Bewitched Tailor" by Sholem-Aleikhem

The drawing represents a general view of the stage. Two towers inclined towards the center flank it from the right and from the left. A raised drop-curtain is attached to them and to the upper arch, which enframes the stage opening from above. Central parts of the curtain and of the arch are pointed. A circular shield with a picture of a goat is set in the upper point. In the depth of the stage the houses of the shtetl can be seen. Theire heigh grows towards the center. There is a moon disk above the houses. ##Side-scenes and the house of the shtetl are painted with red and yellow colours. The other parts of the drawing are left unpainted.
