The Cemetery Chapel in the upper town Jewish cemetery (Čepinska road, now Sv. Leopolda Bogdana Mandića Road, 11-13)

The upper town Jewish cemetery was established in 1860.  Today there are 500-600 monuments.  The neo-classic cemetery chapel was built in the end of the nineteenth century.  It is still in use by the Jewish community.

The building consists of three sections, the central one being larger than the two side sections.  The main western facade, facing the entrance to the cemetery, is in general the same as to the eastern facade, facing the cemetery itself.  Central parts of both facades are finished by a pediment, which end with a round shell-like acroterion. Two lower vaulted windows flank the central entrance doors on both facades.  The doors themselves are situated in a vaulted niche with two columns topped with Corinthian capitals on its side and a vault decorated by floral motifs.  Above the door there is a medallion with a Star of David in a decorated frame.  The northern side section of the western facade has a vaulted door with the vault resting on imposts.  The door in the southern side section is also vaulted but without decorations.  The two side sections of the eastern facade have two doors each (in the southern part one door is bricked up); the door openings are vaulted and without decorations.

The northern and southern facades are also almost identical, and reflect the central part of the eastern and western facades. Each of them has three vaulted windows separated by Corinthian half-columns supporting the vaults (the central window of the southern facade is blind).  The facades are finished by pediments, which end with a round shell-like acroterion.  Above the central window there is a medallion with a Star of David in a decorated frame.

The building has three rooms. The central one is used as a ceremonial hall, while the northern side room is used for ritual cleansing.  The walls and a floor of the central room are decorated with tile, in the center of the floor there is a Star of David.
